Watch Design | Maritime
This collection takes its inspiration from the age of Discovery (15th to 17th century) when euro peons extensively started exploring the sea in search for new trade routes, wealth and knowledge. Maritime is associated with sea related activity and the watch is an embodiment of everything nautical that inspired us.
The form most visibly expressed in this watch is the wooden deck and shape of streamlined ships used during the age of exploration. The arc shapes creates the opening for the Miyota skeleton movement used in this watch highlighted by two metal inlays plated in rose gold. Genuine wood has been used with laser etched pattern on top to showcase the wooden deck.
The indices take from the shape of sails that were used in these ship. They have been precisely engineered with significant height that casts an interesting shadow play on the dial. The bezel of the watch also comes with wooden ring insert.
